The Breast Cancer 3-Day

My mother has survived three operations for breast cancer. She was first diagnosed in 1995, and is still full of piss and vinegar, God bless her. It is in honor of her, and for all those fighting this terrible disease, and with the hope that our daughters won’t have to, that I participate in the 3 Day walk every year with my great friend and fabulous cook, Maria McCouch.

You’ll recognize us if you participate in the Philadelphia walk. We’re the ones cursing up every hill and moaning if it’s too hot, and almost getting run over craning our necks to stare at all the cute police officers who help direct traffic.

It’s quite a challenge as each walker has to commit to raise at least $2,300 and walk 60 miles over the course of 3 days. It’s not easy by any means, but I promise you it’s one of the most incredible and life-changing experiences you will ever have.
