Cathy Pritchard was born in England and came to the United States with her family when she was sixteen. She completed junior and senior year at Cheshire High School in CT, and spent much of that time translating her ‘funny’ English expressions for her classmates. At Central Connecticut State University, she majored in Communications with an emphasis on Radio and TV production, and produced and acted in several shows at the local Hole in the Wall Theatre. While seeking her big break in television, she took a job as a rental agent in an apartment complex as a part-time job, graduated to assistant manager of that building, and a year later was manager of six properties totaling over 1,000 units, discovering to her surprise that she thoroughly enjoyed the real estate business.
Still bitten by the acting bug though, she made a living as a talent agent, model, voiceover artist (where the English accent came in handy) and actress for several years before opening a casting company with a partner in Philadelphia. They cast numerous television and radio commercials and handled extras casting for feature films that shot in the city, including “Twelve Monkeys” and “Up Close and Personal.” In 1997 she left the acting world behind and earned her real estate license; working in residential resale for a few years and then selling new construction for a builder for a few more. Currently Cathy is the Manager of Corporate Communications for a real estate investment company that acquires and develops shopping centers.
She has served on the board of her local Romance Writers of America chapter, Valley Forge Romance Writers, as Corresponding Secretary, Web Mistress, Treasurer and contest judge. Her first book, STEPPING STONES, was a RWA Golden Heart finalist. Cathy is also a member of Sisters in Crime and the Kiss of Death chapter of RWA.
